One-on-one sessions
Building coping skills and safely exploring the thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that feel hardest to manage.
Teens & young adults · Parent support
Whether your teen is anxious or pulling away, or a young adult is finding their feet, it can be hard to know where to turn. I help young people build confidence and coping skills, and I work alongside parents when it helps.

What young people bring
Before becoming an RCC, I worked in community mental health programs for people aged 13 to 30. Teens and young adults often come to me for help with:
Trauma-Focused CBT
I'm trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), a gold standard for helping young people through trauma. It has also been shown to help with mood difficulties and grief.
Building coping skills and safely exploring the thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that feel hardest to manage.
Occasional family sessions to strengthen communication and support at home, at school, or at work.
Developmentally appropriate tools that help rebuild balance and reconnect with the activities they love.
For parents & caregivers
It can be hard to know where to turn. You're welcome to reach out with your questions first, and we can talk about whether counselling with me is the right fit for your young person.

How it works
Pick a time online, including evenings and weekends. We'll talk by phone or video about what's going on and whether my approach feels like a good fit. There's no pressure to continue.
Meet at Empowering Health Clinic in North Park Village, Victoria, or join a secure video session through Jane from anywhere in BC.
We'll set goals that matter to you. Come weekly, every two weeks, or monthly, whatever fits your needs and your life.
I work with teens and young adults, as well as adults. For children, the right fit depends on each child's needs, so feel free to book a free consult to see whether I'm the right fit for your child.
Sometimes. Trauma-Focused CBT includes occasional family sessions that help you support your young person at home and school. Most of the work happens in one-on-one sessions.
Either a parent or the young person can reach out. It's a relaxed 15-minute call to ask questions and see whether my approach feels like a good fit.
Yes. Secure video sessions run through Jane for anyone located in British Columbia, which can be easier around school and activities.
Many extended health plans cover an RCC or CCC, including for dependants. You'll get a receipt after each session to submit to your plan.
